Information you add

Vinyl Buddy lets you save albums, artists, tracklists, pressing and variant information, catalog numbers, notes, custom cover photos, and related collection details. This information is stored on your device and is used only to provide the app’s collection features.

Justin Willemsen does not operate a Vinyl Buddy account system or receive, view, sell, or share your collection data.

iCloud storage and sync

If iCloud is enabled for Vinyl Buddy, your collection may be stored in your private iCloud account and synchronized across devices signed in to that account. Justin Willemsen cannot access that private iCloud data.

Apple provides and operates iCloud. Apple’s handling of iCloud data is governed by your agreement with Apple and Apple’s privacy policy.

Apple Music search

When you search for an album, Vinyl Buddy sends the search request to Apple Music and receives matching music metadata such as artist names, album titles, artwork, release information, and tracklists. Justin Willemsen does not receive or store your searches.

Apple may process technical information ordinarily associated with an internet request under Apple’s own terms and privacy practices.

Camera and cover photos

Vinyl Buddy requests camera access only when you choose to photograph a cover, and photo library access only when you choose an image you already have. You can decline either permission and still use every other part of the app.

A cover photo you capture or select is used for the collection entry you attach it to. It remains on your device and may be included in your private iCloud data when sync is enabled. Photos are not uploaded to servers controlled by Justin Willemsen, and Vinyl Buddy does not read your photo library beyond the image you pick.

Analytics, advertising, and tracking

Vinyl Buddy does not include third-party advertising, analytics SDKs, or cross-app tracking. The app does not build advertising profiles or sell personal information.

Apple may separately process App Store, iCloud, Apple Music, or system diagnostic information according to your Apple settings and Apple’s policies.

Importing and exporting your collection

Vinyl Buddy can export your collection to a CSV file and can import a collection from a CSV file you supply. Both run on your device, using the file locations you choose, such as Files or iCloud Drive.

Justin Willemsen does not receive, process, or store imported or exported files. Once you export a file or share it with another app or service, it is outside Vinyl Buddy and is governed by that destination’s own terms and privacy practices.

Data control and deletion

You can edit or delete collection entries in Vinyl Buddy, and you can export a copy of your collection to CSV at any time. Deleting the app removes data stored only on that device. Data synchronized with iCloud can be managed through the app and your iCloud settings.

Children’s privacy

Vinyl Buddy is not directed to children under 13, and Justin Willemsen does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes and contact

This policy may be updated if Vinyl Buddy’s features or data practices change. The effective date will be revised when an update is published. Questions about privacy can be sent to support@jstnwll.com.
